LONDON, England, February 5, 2001 -- London-based PC manufacturer ELONEX PLC announced today that its Dutch licensing subsidiary has reached agreement concerning the settlement and licensing of Elonex’s display power management technology with NEC, KDS USA, Proview and Iiyama.

On account of the settlement agreements, Elonex’s patent infringement lawsuits in Delaware, USA against NEC, Proview and KDS USA will be dismissed.  Iiyama, which has never been a party to the Delaware proceedings, obtains a worldwide license under the patents.

Elonex has previously licensed numerous companies under the patents including Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Hitachi, Matsushita, Micron, Mitsubishi, Nokia, Philips, Samsung, Sanyo, Sony and Viewsonic.

Power management systems allow personal computer display monitors to consume less power after user-defined or default idle periods.  Elonex’s display power management patents comprise more than twenty independent claims directed to the power management of peripheral devices including display monitors; and enable PC systems to be energy efficient.

Elonex’s power management technology is the subject of Elonex’s US Patent Numbers 5,389,952, 5,648,799 and 5,880,719; European Patent Numbers 0672285 and 0678843; and Japanese Patent Number 2,847,099.
